Im deciding between relocating to Denver versus Portland, OR. I would love to hear from people that have either lived in or spent time in both cities and which one they prefer. I know that there is a different climate in both places, but would like to know the differences in the big picture between cost of living, nightlife, people, things to do, etc.

I am very interested in this topic as well. I just read the thread on Denver vs Seattle with great interest.

I live in Colorado Springs currently and have lived on the west coast (S. Calif) but not Portland or the PNW. Here is a thread I started about the same topic:

Ad here is a poll someone took:

As for me I may return to the coast some day. I really love the ocean because I grew up on the beach. Sometimes I hear the fog horn or waves calling me. But for now I am fully enjoying Colorado and all that its beautiful Rocky Mountains have to offer my family and I. Life is short I am very thankful that I could experience and enjoy both.

Well I lived in portland for 32 years, born and raised there. And while nice, I love Denver so much more. The seasons, the cost, the people. Portland is grey and rainy most of the time. And yes the summers are very pleasant. Schools are better here as well. Portland has school issues as well as political ones. I will always love Oregon, but I am so much happier here. My family is still there and they are considering finally getting out. Between Portland and Seattle, i go with Seattle. Much trendier and bigger.
