YouTube - Denver Highlands Map (Moby Large)

Click the above link for an animated map of the walk i took while taking the photos. The route is in red. (I tried to embed the video instead of just linking to it, but couldn't; probably because the html code is turned off on this forum... if anyone knows the code for embedding youtube videos please let me know.)

I decided to post the photos here in their own separate thread since these neighborhoods come up in discussions fairly often and this way I (or others) can provide a link to this thread rather than embedding the photos on various individual threads.

The shots are from Saturday, May 19. I started off in the Central Platte River Valley area (I think that is what it is called) and walked over the 16th Street Pedestrian Bridge into the Highlands Neighborhood and Highlands Square. Then walked back to Downtown along a different route and crossed over the 15th Street bridge.

It was about a 5-6 mile walk (roundtrip)... the photos are no longer arranged chronologically and are scattered around, but most of the newer & larger buildings are in the Central Platte River Valley and the older ones are in Highlands.

I tried to just capture things that caught my interest; these are by no means the most beautiful homes or structures in the area. In fact I purposely took pictures of some of the ordinary buildings / scenes.

Default Platte Valley & Highlands -- Photo Tour -- Comment Thread

Wow, MobyLL! This is what ScrantonWilkesBarre on the Northeast PA forum does all the time, except you're taking pictures of Denver. That's an interesting part of town. I don't care much for those all glass condo towers, but those historic homes in the Highlands neighborhood are pretty cool.

MobyLL,

These pictures are beautiful. Shame on you! You are now responsible for another 100,000 people moving into Denver.

The river is the Platte River. Some of the photos also show where Cherry Creek joins the Platte at Confluence Park. I don't know about the cleanliness... it looks fairly clean for a river that runs through a metropolitan area, but who knows... I see lots of dogs and kids playing in the water though everytime i've been there; this has been during the warmer weather of course.
