Hey, all.

My husband and I will be celebrating our third anniversary this summer, and I'm looking forward to using that as an excuse to do some more exploring of the Front Range.

I've been doing some research on where we could go and what we could do - Estes Park, Pikes Peak, Georgetown, Durango, etc - but I'd like to get some suggestions from those of you who know the area far better than we do (though we're learning!).

Any spots you especially like for a special occasion/weekend getaway?

Just something relaxing and scenic. A place with good dining options and maybe an activity or two to check out.

Summer in the mountains is awesome. Especially since for most areas it is cheaper than ski season. Vail, Aspen, and Glenwood Springs are great places to relax, see the town, and get something to eat.

Another really great option is the Broadmoor near Colorado Springs. It is the top resort/hotel in Colorado.

Wow - just checked out the Broadmoor site. Quite incredible-looking! Not sure if we'll be able to do it this year (besides, looks like they're sold out the weekend we want to go), but will keep it in mind for future getaways.

I'm definitely interested in Vail, the more I look.

Thanks for your suggestions!

Just FYI....Durango is quite a drive and not anywhere near the Front Range.....although it is beautiful and worth visiting....

Glenwood Springs. Hit the hot springs pool and/or the vapor caves, take the gondolas to the cave tour, drive down to Maroon Bells and Aspen.

Really nice.
