I never said you don't have to pay (in fact my post included the overnight parking rates) - you just don't have to move the car ever 2 hours overnight. You stated that "you still have to move after 2 hours." I was just pointing out that that's not correct - the two hour limit only applies from 8am-10pm.

Default Round and round we go!

Right..but payment begins at 8am the next day, not 10am (per your earlier post). Which I um, pointed out that you could stay until 8am without paying.

You're reading something into my post that wasn't there.

My point was simply that you can park overnight - that if you pull into a metered downtown spot at 8pm, you could legally stay there for the next 14 hours.

I didn't say anything about the frequency of how you pay. I haven't parked overnight yet, so I don't know how that aspect works. There seems to be 3 distinct periods over which you'd be parking - the last 2 hours of day 1 (8pm-10pm), overnight (10pm-8am), and then the first 2 hours of day 2 (8am-10am). I don't know if you'd have to go to the meter 3 times to make 3 payments - at 8pm, again at 10pm, and finally at 8 am, or if the meter is set up so that you can pay for it all at once.

Here is your post. If you take the time to read your own post and the language on the meter, you would not be able to stay in the same spot until 10am, because paid parking begins at 8am.

Incorrect as parking begins again at 8am.

The answer lies in the language on the meter, only 2 hours in one spot. It does not discuss hours of the day, but simply says no more than 2 hours in one spot.

Here's your other post which actually supports what I'm saying. You state that there is no time limit from 10pm-8am, but I don't see any language stating that, only the simple language that 2 hours for one spot is the policy. Parking next day begins at 8am, not 10am. I have no idea where you see parking begins at 10am?

Overnight parking becomes available in downtown Denver > Government > Stories > Denver > YourHub.com

I never said it begins at 10 am - I know that time limited parking begins again at 8 am. Since the time limit is 2 hours, if your car were there at 8am when the time limited parking started, it means you can stay 2 hours, or until 10am.

Similarly, if time limited parking ends at 10 pm, that means you could park anytime after 8pm and not have to worry about time limits until the next morning.

Hence, you can park at a downtown Denver meter from 8pm-10am without going over any time limit rules.

I think I'm just going to keep reposting your own language, since it seems to be the only way.

And to play your game, I never said that you said that parking begins at 10am. It was my own statement. You did say...

And I'll make the same argument as I did a page ago --- where is the language saying that you would have two hours to move when you pass the 8am beginning pay period??

Where do you see time limited parking ending at 10pm??

I don't understand the confusion here. Here's a picture of a downtown Denver meter:

It's pretty clear what the regulations are.

In terms of time limit, there are 2 different periods:
1) From 8am-10pm, parking is limited to 2 hours (here's the quote from the meter "VEHICLE MUST BE MOVED AT LEAST 100' FROM THIS SPACE AFTER 2-HOURS IF PARKED BETWEEN 8AM-10PM").
2) From 10pm-8am overnight parking is allowed (meaning no time limit - you can park their overnight).

So if you get there at 8:15pm, the two hour limit is meaningless since once it hits 10pm you're now in overnight parking territory. Time limited parking doesn't start again until 8am the next morning. Since the time limited parking doesn't start again until 8am, if you're parked there at 8am, you can stay for 2 hours before you have to move your car.

In terms of rate, there are 3 different periods:
1) From 8am-2am, it's $1 per hour
2) From 2am-6am, it's $0.5 per hour
3) From 6am-8am, it's free

So you could legally park at this meter from 8pm until 10am the next morning. It would cost you $10.

I got it.

I missed the language I highlighted in red:
From 8am-10pm, parking is limited to 2 hours (here's the quote from the meter "VEHICLE MUST BE MOVED AT LEAST 100' FROM THIS SPACE AFTER 2-HOURS IF PARKED BETWEEN 8AM-10PM").
So why didn't you just point that out in the first place!?!

Well, that was fun!!
