My husband and I moved here a few years ago and started of in an apartment. We found that there were a lot of very good properties to choose from. Would you rather be closer to the city or in more of a suburban neighborhood? What amenities are important to you? When we first came we lived in a complex called The Breakers (near Alameda/Quebec). It's not far from Buckley (15 minutes) and it's a nice community. The apartments are a bit dated, but the amenities were great. Gated community, several pools, good recreation facilities, lake with walking path, and we had very nice neighbors in the complex. Shopping was close by in Lowry and Stapleton and the Aurora Mall aren't far. I know the Aurora Mall (now called the Town Center) gets kind of a bad rap,, but they've done a lot of renovations recently and it seems like an okay place to shop during the day. I'm not sure what the evening crowd is like. . . any how, enjoy your adventure!

Default Buckley airforce base neighborhoods

Can anyone tell me anything about the neighborhood a little west of buckley airforce base? Is it a safe area? How much are the homes going for a 3 bedroom. Is it still considered south aurora?

Has less than a 10% chance of being within 5% of fair market value

Your broker can set up a grid or map search.

The only problem with living anywhere close to Buckley AFB is the noise from the fighter jets taking off and landing. I have done lots of landscape construction west and south of Buckley and every time I do a job out there it feels like I am in a ghost town as no one is home. The soil is mostly sand and clay and without good top soil lawns tend to die out really quickly. The area to the west of Buckley is pretty well establish as the homes were all built about 20 to 30 years ago and has some good looking old trees for shade in the summer time. The areas to the south of Buckley are newer but remember that the land fill is south east of Buckley about 10 miles, just east of E470.

the jet noise is nothing new to us. We lived in virginia beach. Oceana was only 3 minutes from our house.

Hi all, I might be getting a job out at Buckley too this summer. I want to research before take the job. I have 2 school agers and 1 preschooler. I am Very concerned about their safety in the neighorhood, but especially at school. (I'd homeschool if I could). I only need a hospital and a wal-mart by me. Big cities can be within driving distance, but not too close. I want to live in an area with lots of kids for mine to play with and room to run outside. How is the weather there? I have so many questions!

You have lots of options.

Here's how I'd approach it:

What line of work are you in? If you lost your job at BAFB, what is Plan B? Plan C?
Do you want to rent or buy?
House, apartment, townhouse, etc?
Rent budget or price range?
Can you flex your work hours (say, start at 630 or 700 and beat what little traffic there is in Denver)? This will increase the radius in miles the distance you can drive in the same amount of minutes.

Default Moving to Buckley

We will be relocating to Buckley AFB and are looking to rent a home. It seems the Aurora area can be really bad in some areas. Can anyone help to let me know what areas are safe? My husband will most likely be deploying to Iraq and I will be home with my small children so really want to know we picked a good area. We have looked at GVR and seems that is a not so nice area. How about Murphy Creek, Parker, or South East Aurora. I would really like a neighborhood where I can walk to the playground with my daughters. Thanks for any input.
