Working in LoDo. Young family. Like HR but worried about the commute. Anything similar in Broomfield or westminster?

Yes, and no. (How's that for waffling?) There are no places with the private rec centers and such, but both communities have nice public rec centers and lots of trails. They both also have housing of all different ages.

I don't know those areas real well. I know Broomfield better than Westminster. Aspen Creek and Broadlands come to mind as places that might interest you.

Price range? What's important to you in a neighborhood? Max commute time?

Looking to be $350,000 max and 4 bedrooms. Would like commute to be under 40 min and would really like it to be shorter on an express bus

I second Katiana's recommendations of Aspen Creek and the Broadlands. Also Mckay Landing and a nice little subdivision called RedLeaf. I also like the neighborhood called the Village at Harmony Park (although they might be Westminster, not sure). All of them are newer standard suburban subdivisions within 10-15 minute driving distance to the large Wagon Road park-n-ride on 120th and I-25 where you can take and express bus downtown in rush hour in 30 minutes.

I'm not sure if you can find a 4 bedroom for under $350 in all of those areas (you can in Village at Harmony Park, I looked), but I think it would depend on square footage. Oh, and there's a neighborhood next door to mine that seems to have larger houses for lower price per sq foot--it's called Weatherstone. Not the most attractive houses in my opinion design-wise but they are newer and pretty affordable for this area. I would recommend my neighborhood, Bradburn Village in Westminster (and 5 minutes to park n ride) which is still building houses, but currently you can't get a 4 bedroom house for under $350.

Thanks so much for the advice. We'll check those areas out when we get in town.
