Good info already given. I will say the only challenge I feel the weather here offers is the inability to put away "out of season" clothes - I suppose you can pack away down parkas come May (mid-May, at least) and tank tops come November...but other than that, you just never know. I love the variety. LOVE it. But all of our dresser drawers are overflowing. Small price to pay.

Another reason the weather is so unpredectible here is because of the mile above sea level elevation. When I lived in MI, the seasons were more predectible albeit I've seen snow a couple of times in April and October, but the temperature fluctuations were not as extreme as here.

As a native who has lived along the Front Range for over 55 years, the other posters are pretty much right-on regarding the weather here. It will change daily, sometimes hourly. However, it is true that there has been snowfall recorded in Denver proper (and Colorado Springs) every month of the year except July and August

That is exactly how I do it. You will not need a parka after May, nor a sleeveless shirt of any kind after October as you say. You do need jeans, sweatshirts, sweaters, etc year round. I do put shorts away come fall as well. There are warm days into October, but you'll survive in a pair of pants.

If you don't like the weather in Colorado right now, wait 10 minutes and it will change.

People have used this same expression almost everywhere in the country I've lived - its not unique to Colorado! However, if you replace 'weather' with 'temperature' you might be more on the right track for spring!

Coming from San Diego I had no idea what weather change was.

As far as snow and cold statistics here's a good link:

Denvers Winter/Cold Season Statistics

Humidity on the other hand, isn't that bad. I came from South Texas where the highest dew points were in the high 70s and lowest probably 40s (on average). I noticed here in Denver, at least last year, the highest dew points were in the 50s. Which is what we considered "comfortable" back home.
