Minuses:
- Houses are pretty old and outdated for the price
- Extremely long commute to typical workplaces along the I-25 corridor
- Besides what's actually in the valley, there isnt much around Ken Caryl

Ultimately, I'm happy about our decision because I didnt realize how bad the commute along C-470 to my workplace on I-25 would be.
Thanks for the info. Where did you decided to live?

We have lived in KC valley for 3 years and really like it. The negatives would be the distance to the airport - takes about 50 minutes, and driving time to downtown during heavy traffic times. I can get downtown in 30 minutes but i avoid the busiest times and for the most part work from home. the pros are i can be at a trailhead in 5 minutes and can hike/bike/snowshoe/xcountry ski basically in my backyard.

Such a beautiful area...wish I lived there instead of by DU. When I look at the radar for Denver, I alway see clouds over the valley....or radar artifacts from the foothills. Don't know which. Is the weather more rainy or severe there than in Denver?

If you love the outdoors, particularly hiking, mountain biking and wildlife viewing, Ken Caryl Valley cannot be beat. But all the other posts are also correct in their comments. It is also about 5 degrees cooler here than in Denver. We moved here 1 1/2 years ago and love it.

Yep, usually around 5 degrees cooler here and it can be snowing here and just raining on the other side of the hogback, but the 5 degrees can be an advantage in the summer, we rarely run our a/c.

Default Re: Negatives about Ken-Caryl?

I live in Ken-Caryl and one negative is there is no view of the mountains! Just a couple of miles east and the views are terrific.
