We just got jobs out there and will be moving in 2 weeks. We will be working at a hospital downtown on 19th street. We want to live in Golden but can't find anything to rent unless in south Golden which I hear is not as nice.

Since we are in a crunch for time, and can't find anything where we want it, we need to expand our options. We have 3 kids so decent schools is important.

We found nice places in Ken Caryl, but thats 40 mins from work, with no traffic. We want to be as close to the mountains as possible.

Budget is 1300-1800, pretty flexiable, the less the better obviously but will pay for a nice place. We know Green Mountain is nice but cant find anything there to rent either.

Any other ideas?

Arvada, Wheat Ridge Lakewood to start - plenty of rentals in those cities with your price range.

Is Boulder an option or is that too far north? What about Arvada or Westminster? Boulder might top your budget with three kids. Not sure about Arvada but, the last time I checked Westminster, apartments around Westminster were a lot cheaper than Boulder given the same $ per square feet.
