It looks like I might be moving with my girlfriend to the Denver area and we would have a job downtown as well as a job in lone tree. What areas would you recommend as we would probably be renting.

I'd look at some of the Denver neighborhoods south or southeast of downtown. If you want a neighborhood that has a lot of younger people and opportunities to socialize, for instance, maybe you should look at the Washington Park area. If social opportunities aren't as important, maybe look near I-25 and Hampden Ave. or the University neighborhood near DU.

The DTC area is fine, too, if you're looking for more of a suburban/bedroom community feel. To me (and keep in mind, this is JUST my opinion), it seems like most people I know who live in the DTC come to Denver to hang out and socialize anyway, so if you're into that, why not just live in Denver. It really depends on what type of neighborhood you want.

I don't feel like S or SE Denver to Lone Tree is really that bad of a commute.

Consider any of the many apartments along the southeast light rail corridor. The person who works downtown could take the light rail to work and it would be an easy drive to Lone Tree. There are tons of newer apartment buildings near the Dry Creek station and also some nice complexes near the Orchard station.

Most folks like Wash Park, Platte Park, Pearl Street, DU, as they have the right vibe. Rentals (single family homes) are hard to find. There are some others further south that could work. All are close to light rail too.

I agree with Pete, Dave and others, anywhere along the I-25 corridor from Speer to Lincoln.

Tell us what you like to do when you are not working - swimming, fitness, waking, shopping, tennis....
