Day 55 - Dear journal. Fur matting. I've covered my paws in road tar for protection. Yesterday I jumped on a bumper to avoid a rabid poodle and got stuck for HOURS.....you have no idea how degrading it is to ride next to a pair of 'truck nuts' through rush hour. Saw lots of roadkill. Didn't recognize anyone. Still looking for this Purina place. Worried I forgot to let in the humans before I left....memo to self, best litterboxes found in playgrounds....

Exclamation Denver is missing a jewel.......!!!!!

A beautiful cat named Willow, was found living in Manhattan, which makes her, now, a New Yorker. See link below.

I think I saw this cat walking east along highway 36 in the company of a giant squid and a Galapagos tortoise. It was an incredibly long journey.

If the people in co let their cat outside whos to say the cat wont leave again. Plus they have had a child since the cat left 5 yrs ago & they have a dog. I feel they shouldnt be allowed to have the cat back & the cat should be a strickly indoor cat. Im quite sure many people in nyc alone would love to adopt willow. Indoor cats live longer & are much healthier. They dont have to worry about diseases, fleas, predators, cars, the weather, low life cat haters, etc.

Nice of you to jump to conclusions and wish for them to lose their cat again. According to published reports the cat "escaped in late 2006 or early 2007 when contractors left a door open during a home renovation."

I read that, too, but if it was an indoor cat, why did it have an ID chip?

Every cat I've had (all have been indoor cats) has been chipped. Why? In case the cat gets out accidentally.

The Boulder Valley Humane Society Cat Adoption Package for example, includes:

Collar
Microchip. . .

Exactly. It's called responsible pet ownership... er... guardianship

I'm not sure if it's required or not, but yeah... they basically do it at the shelters as soon as they are born no matter if they are going to be an indoor or outdoor cat. I have a kitten who gets to experience outside only through a screened window and she is microchipped. Overkill, but you never know!?!
