This is all really weird, I really haven't experienced what I consider to be "bad" traffic, even on a Saturday or Sunday, even on I-5. And I moved here from a town of only 40,000!

Sure, there are a lot of cars and a lot of lanes to change in and out, but for the most part, I've always been able to drive anywhere I want on the Freeways at a consistent speed of about 60mph-70mph. To me, Dallas has much worse traffic and much crazier drivers. So I'm guessing driving around in Denver must be a breeze?

I can't explain it. Next time you have a few hours with nothing to do, drive up to Irvine on a Saturday morning. Have lunch, then head back south down I-5. Its pretty much bumper to bumper all the way down.

Keep in mind I've never lived in southern California, but I have visited extensively...

In my opinion, the traffic in Denver can be just as bad as the traffic in San Diego, BUT it's mostly just during rush hour. I can only remember a few times that I've been stuck in traffic on a Saturday in Denver, whereas southern California traffic is often at a standstill, even on the weekends.

Denver DOES have traffic problems. I realize that it's not as bad as SOCAL's , but who thinks about that when you're crawling along in bumper to bumper Denver traffic?

At least in Denver, it looks like its easier to plan around rush hour. Leave a little early or a little late and you'll miss some of it. Rush HOURS are so long in SoCal that trying to wait out the traffic means leaving work at 8:00pm and even then you'd still probably hit traffic.

Atlanta traffic is the worst, because once you get off the clogged freeways, it only gets worse. The back streets of the the Atlanta suburbs are so clogged, 5 mile drives take 45 minutes. Here in Denver, 5 mile drives take 7 minutes, 8 if you miss the one traffic signal.
