I've been in Atlanta for 8 years and have wanted to leave for the past 6. About 5 years ago I almost sold my car and quit my job to move to Seattle but my friends/family only projected their own fears onto me and I chickened out. Upon further analysis and research, I think that Denver is a better place, because the people are closer to my southeastern roots in terms of friendliness and courtesy, and I also think Colorado has a good future in my career which is civil engineering (water resources infrastructure).

I will be moving without a job:

I'm a civil engineer with 6 yrs exp. and a P.E. license.

In addition, I'm a wedding/event videographer and work in video production.

I have approx. $10,000 in savings. I'm hoping I can find someone willing to do short term lease since I want to be open to the surrounding cities for employment.

Personally, I'm a 31 yo single white male.

I'll be there OCt 14-21 for interviewing. It's only a week away and I have no interviews lines up. I might have to take a temp job somewhere. YOU'D THINK that having an eng. degree and P.E. license AND being at the height of my physical/mental life would help me get employment???? Well it sure as heck hasn't helped here in Atlanta... of course half the people here wear their pants around their knees... and the other half is just plain brain dead!
