Yes, but it's not a lot, and that's why many have Subarus, or other AWD, 4WD. Not an issue.

But the question was about rear wheel drive which is what my answer is referring to.

Didn't read all the threads but I spent a winter in Denver with a rear wheel drive SUV. Not the best idea, but with good tires, you'll be fine. I highly recommend Nitto Grappler. They're good year round and work well in the snow. I bought them in Denver about 5 years ago and they look nearly new today.
