Long story - short. I want to move to Colorado, I visited Colorado Springs but after reading posts Im not sure if I would feel safe their. It would just be me ( mom ) and my teenager. I dont have any jobs lined up but enough for one month of living. I need out of my situation now. No certain degree, but Apple certified.

Do you guys, people of Colorado have any insight for me? Are jobs easily obtained? Any certain part of the state better that you would suggest?

Denver is the big dog for jobs in the state, bar none.

I live in COLO SPGS and it's plenty safe here, fear not.

Go anywhere in the state you can find a decent job.

IMO you need more than a month's grubstake if coming here w/out a job.

There are Apple stores out here where you might find a job, check them out and see if you can land a job before coming here.

COLO is a bit more expensive than some other states, but not like the cost of living in most coastal areas.

I guess it's odd for me to hear that you wouldn't feel safe in Colorado Springs. What makes you think that?

As for jobs, there are a lot of technical jobs in IT and computers in Denver Tech Center (an area of Denver), in Boulder, and in Colorado Springs. In Denver you would have a choice of working in private industry or for the Federal Government - there are a lot of jobs in both. In Boulder, you would be workin for the University or in private industry as there are a handful of large companies in town. Colorado Springs would mostly be military and Government which means you need a security clearance to get those jobs.

Having a security clearance is pretty much a guarantee of being able to easily get a job, not only in Colorado Springs, but any town in the country where there's a lot of military or DoD stuff. If you feel like there's nothing preventing you from being able to obtain a clearance, then you can apply for jobs in Colorado Springs, either as a contractor or direct hire. Once you get the clearance, they are valid and carry with you for several years, and you can easily transfer any time you want to other jobs anywhere you like.

But if you don't want to go that route, you'll find more opportunities to work in private industry in Boulder or Denver.

I would definitely choose Denver over Springs. But either you need to get a job lined up before coming or you need more than a months worth of money
