I think the comparison was equating Toronto to Chicago, not Denver to Chicago. I'd agree that Toronto has more of a Chicago feel.

You misunderstood my comparison - I was saying that Chicago is similar to Toronto, not Denver.

Denver is very similar to Calgary, if comparing to Canadian cities.
