I will be relocating from Chicago to Denver in the next month for a job transfer. I live in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago and would like to live somewhere similar in Denver. Can anyone recommend an urban, yet residential neighborhood in Denver? Based on what I know so far, I am focusing my search on the Highlands (lohi), Lodo, Cherry Creek North (near the mall), and possibly Wash Park although it seems a bit far from the city. Thanks.

This question has been answered here before.
Search within the Denver forum for Chicago and Lincoln Park.

Also, Denver is MUCH smaller than Chicago.

Wash Park and Cheesman Park/Cap Hill are great residential urban neighborhoods that are in the heart of the city. They are very walkable neighborhoods.

Will you be needing a car? Will you be working downtown?

I agree with Cheesman Park. Also, some parts of Capitol Hill, as well as the Speer neighborhood south of Capitol Hill. LoHi is less urban, but might fit. Uptown is not residential enough. Wash Park is too suburban.

As the previous poster implied, Denver has a different city feel and experience from Chicago. These neighborhoods may fit your criteria, but will feel quite different than any part of Lincoln Park.
