Many visits to my inlaws in Parker have made me fall in love with colorado and the quality of life you all have there. My wife is the only thing holding me here in the Bay Area of California and I am tired of the people, overccrowding and the cost of providing for a family. I here the job market there can be un easy but from all I see life is good there. Please give me some good information to show my wife.

Parker is by far the best place I have ever lived.

Small town atmosphere, but close to the city.

Great views, great weather, great people...schools/etc/etc. There really is not one bad thing I can say about parker.....for now, even crime is pretty much non-existant (I would leave my place, forget to lock the door and not car because I knew nothing would happen).

Not crammed either, lots of open space, wildlife, views of the Rockies, etc.

You are right though, the job market is a bit flat here, the dot com bubble hurt quite a bit.....how you do will depend a lot on what type of job you are looking for.

Great weather????????????
We don't know what town of Parker you live in, but we have photos/video of some pretty nasty lightning/storms here in the summer (even hail). We even have photos/video of some "blinding" snow storms here in Parker. One such snow storm, I couldn't even see my neighbors house across the street.
We do have great weather here..........
but NOT ALL THE TIME!!
Just wish people in this Forum would tell the truth about the weather here.
We are orginally from Indiana and Michigan, so the weather here didn't bother us.

ok in the form of disclosure Colorado has "Great Weather,"on any given day, depending on your perspective at that moment in time.

We can get rain for days, snow for days, blizzards, pea to popcorn to softball sized hail, tornadoes, wind, black ice, frost, lightening, thunder...

this time of year (and until May) I carry: a flashlight & new batteries, sand, ice scraper, gloves, a blanket, tire chains, some water, and food and a sweatshirt...just in case. I do not have a 4 wheel drive vehicle. 4 wheel drive has never meant 4 wheel stop, and if it's too bad to drive, then save whatever it was you needed to do for tomorrow. I like being prepared for anything. I also carry an extra pair of sunglasses for clients who need them on the 350 sunny days we have a year.

I once had a walkthrough in March, and by the time we had walked the inside of the house, it had dumped three inches of snow outside...so a change of shoes and an overcoat were suddenly needed.

Almost Heaven

You can believe the "silly talking" of 2bindenver or you can believe my reply. Actually, some of the things that 2bindenver put in their reply is correct. If you do decide to come here, just be prepared for "no perfect/sunny" weather all year around...........Colorado isn't Southern California by a long shot.

I agree w/ 2bindenver. Everything he said was pretty much right on. I have lived in Colorado ALL of my life. Yes we get our share of storms, but the good weather FAR out weighs the bad weather. It is not that often that we get a storm that completely stops the state. Yes, it is alot different from California, but it is not a bitter cold like Minnesota. It normally melts with in a day or worse case w/ in a couple days. I think my kids had 4 snow days last year and probably 2 of those days was because it was too icy for teenagers to drive on in the morning. Just my 2 cents. SHEP
