My fiancee and I are potentially moving to Denver after we get married this summer, and I am looking for some advice on places to live.

I don't have a job lined up yet, but am in the process of applying, so I can't give you a specific location concerning where my job would be. However, I love a good mix of urban life and amenities (ie, access to restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, music venues) in combination with outdoor activities. I went to school at the University of Wisconsin, and loved that I could walk to coffee shops and restaurants but also get to hiking trails and lakes really easily. My fiancee likes cities, but also wants where we're living to be somewhat quiet and to feel safe wherever we're at.

We don't need anything bigger than a 1BD, and our max budget would be between $750-800. I would love to use public transit to get to work, if possible. I work in the Chicago area right now, and if I didn't have to drive to work anymore, that would be fantastic.

We're both in our 20s, so a younger neighborhood with maybe some families would be ideal. I also live in a suburb now, and after living in Madison, getting into a neighborhood with more of a "feel" to it would be awesome.

I'm just wondering if people have suggestions on places for me to start looking on Padmapper. Thanks!

unfortunately i don't think you'll get what you described for $800. might need to make some compromises on your requirements....

Also, just out of curiosity (I'm a former Chicago resident as well), did you find such a place that meets what you described for $800 in Chicago?

Colorado state law says that immigrants must purchase a Subaru all-wheel drive vehicle prior to establishing domicile.

I dunno, my daughter had a 1BR in Westminster for about that last year. Granted, Westy isn't "urban", but it has its walkable features, and RTD service.
