So, I'm having trouble finding a rental and think I may need a little help from the locals. I got an job at a non profit in 5 points and need to be there by early August. I'm trying to formulate a game plan for our weekend "find a place to live or die" trip in late July. What I am looking for are reputable rental places or neighborhoods with decent rental prices ($1350 max).

We are looking for a 3 bedroom (house or apt) available in early August. I'll be in town July 20- 22 and need to find something that weekend! Moving from Louisiana but lived in Denver before. Looking for something in central Denver, not too far south. Maybe keeping between 285 and i70 but I do have an open mind if there's an area you recommend. Job is in 5 points but willing to commute a little. Doesnt need to be too upscale, a little ghetto is ok, we can handle it. Help is greatly appreciated.

Default Commute is correct

Apartments for Rent - PadMapper Apartment Search for Oodle, Apartments.com, Rent.com, Kijiji, and Craigslist Apartments shows a big empty hole ($1350, 3 bed) around downtown.
You need to look farther away.

When you find some that look attractive, let us know and we will chime in with opinions.

Yeah, I kind of figured that would be the case. I've been looking on padmapper but that pulls mostly from Craigslist and more than half of those are scams. I've tried most of the sites you listed. Which is why I'm trying to find good areas to just drive through, look for signs on doors and call. It's times like these you kinda wish google street view was live! So what I'm asking is, are there any specific areas, from a local's perspective, that fit my criteria? Not online listings, but actual physical places I can drive through and good rental agencies I can contact?
