I have only visited Denver, and I didn't find anything close to Detroit. For a big city it seems very safe, not salt lake city safe but pretty darn good. Absolutely nothing like out east. If you're from Detroit you'll like it. It's not exactly like the Colorado you see on tv or at least what I pictured Colorado being like, that's west of the rockies. It's also pretty industrial and sprawling.

But I'm sure that's because it's a tranportation hub for such a huge area of the country that doesn't have any cities.

It's good, not crazy good because it isn't a very urban city, but good. I'm about to go there myself and do some road biking in the mountains west.

If colorado had an ocean I would probably move there.

As long as you refer to it as North Denver. Or, er, the North Side. Wait, what?

Default Westminster, Colorado

North and North West Westminster are Nice. South and Southeast Westminster are turning into ghetto-land. The City ignores the older parts and lets them get dilapidated. Whoever is in charge of Urban renewal should be fired!

Being from Denver on ghetto neighborhood that I think everyone forgets about is Montbello. I lived there for 4 years and there is always gang activity down there.

Nobody forgets about it. It's definitely on the low end of the spectrum but it's nowhere near as bad as true ghetto neighborhoods. Take a visit to Southeast Fort Worth. It makes Montbello look like middle class paradise.

Agreed. Having grown up in St. Louis, I always make the comparison to North St. Louis or East St. Louis (IL)....by that comparison, Denver's going to have to do a lot of work to have a real 'ghetto'.

From Cleveland/Atlanta here... if you gotta ask, then no.
Trust me.
People dont ask if CLE/ATL or STL has a Ghetto, they just know. So if you gotta ask, no.
