Interested in general...how are the schools and services for special needs kids?

You have to be more specific, it depends on the school district, the school, the age of the children and the types of special needs. So barring any new information, I will say the schools and special education programs are, in general, good.

My brother is in special ed in the Cherry Creek School District, which is supposed to be the best in the state. Colorado ranks near the bottom of all 50 states for special education, and I know why. While the program he is in here is "okay" (he has a great teacher who cares), the quality of his education overall does not begin to compare with the services he has received elsewhere (MN, OK and TX).
