I was wondering if any of you have some 'scoop' on the new North neighborhood? The only news I've seen is on the Parkwood website, and I was wondering if the same builders will be building over there along with Parkwood. I'm also hoping there will be a new pool built over there as well. Anything you locals have heard I would love for you to share since I'm 2500 miles away.

Not necessarily. But we do want a dirt start, and by the time we're ready to build I doubt there will be any lots left in Stapleton proper. And I would mind a little more yard.

I would check out this map: http://www.stapletondenver.com/sites...nd_Use_Map.pdf

I assume that all the builders building here now we'll eventually move over there... they aren't going to bring in a bunch of new people. I know they are planning a high school over there, as well as a sports complex with sports fields, etc -- and i'm sure at least 1 pool if not 2 will go in on that side.

Keep in mind this is probably over the next 5-10 years though, it will be a long process getting all of that built out.

Also keep in mind, if you do want to be on the south side of I-70, I think there will still be alot of "in-fill" lots available within the next 2 years... so unless your planning on after that you should be able to find something.

Wow, that map is great! I've only found a b&w one. Although I am not thrilled about be surrounded by construction forever, the idea of a bigger backyard is so appealing (we have a Stapleton size yard now). However.....if we were able to find an infill lot and already be on a built out street, that may be the trade off. We shall see - we'll know what our plans are in January, a things will likely move pretty fast after that. This whole thing is a little frustrating.....we were ready to pull the trigger last October when we were there!

If your talking just early next year to make a decision, you will still have alot of options south of I-70. I haven't really heard much about the yards on the north side being that much bigger, so I wouldn't bet on that. If you do want a big yard, you'll pay $$$$ for it. Usually only offered with the $500,000+ homes....

Good to know. I did read on Parkwood's site that the yards will be 50% larger - that obviously remains to be seen! But I feel better about having both options available to us early next year. Price will definitely play a big part on our decision.

You will have alot of options... I really wouldn't worry too much. Whenver you are ready to buy, there should be something available that fits what you need.

Talked to a salesperson from Wonderland yesterday that claimed they will be building more of their "Innovations" models in Northfield.

That's good to know. I like Wonderlands homes - they're just too small! Thanks for the heads up!
