Hi, I'm new to Colorado. I moved to cap hill from southern oregon almost two months ago. I moved with two cats and two horses. The horses ended up on Littleton. Anyways, my question is what are some things to do that are fun by yourself (I don't know anyone here). So far I've spent the majority of my time working, going to the gym and visiting the horses. I like a variety of things, so I'm just looking for some suggestions that will spice up my routine.

Thanks!

I should probably mention I don't care for meetup.com or online dating.

I am married with kids and I teach all day, so maybe I relish my alone time a little more than most people. Here are some things I don't mind to do alone:

Go ride your bicycle - bike around downtown using the B Cycle Program. Ride your bike to see your horses.

Find new routes to walk/run/hike, like: Green Mountain or Red Rocks Amphitheater, it's a different kind of workout.

Take a yoga or pilates class. Santosha Yoga studio in Wheat Ridge is very good or try Joie de Vive Pilates Studio.

Visit a museum: I love the Denver Art Museum, the History Colorado Museum, Denver Museum of Nature and Science. I still haven't gone to the Clifford Still Museum, but I need to fit that in.

See a movie, go to a concert or see a show downtown. These are things you wouldn't talk to someone during the performance anyway.

Watch a sporting event: the bike race is downtown on Sunday, Aug. 26.

Professional concerts, shows and sporting events can be pricey, so watch a high school production or sport. The high schools have calendars on their website. Find out which high schools have particularly good programs and see those. They are as good as a lot of the regional theater that I have seen.

Volunteer. Serve as mentor to a teenager. Work in a soup kitchen. Volunteer in a program that helps or uses horses.

There are lots of things to do out there. You may even meet a friend or two.

I enjoy going and having coffee and reading books and magazines at Tattered Cover in Lodo, especially when it starts to get cold and snows. One of the best independent bookstores in the country.

Almost every group has an online presence or Facebook page with invites and listings. It's often how you introduce yourself and say hi, allowing someone to get a glimpse of you as well.

Group events and online arrangements and discussions (pre and post) go hand in hand. Don't fret online introductions-it's not considered weird or creepy, just don't give out all your personal details (or post them online) And it's definitely online dating.

What is there to do? That's like a child asking what's the meaning to living a life in this century.

Maybe you should share a little bit of yourself in terms of what kind of person you are. Otherwise you won't be getting a very compatible answer.

Have you spent time in Boulder yet? Pearl St. for shopping and a coffee, the creek path, hiking out of the neighborhoods into the foothills, etc. are some of my favorite things to do alone.
