Has anyone noticed a sharp increase in the number of 7-11 stores in the area? In the past two years I have seen two new stores by my job, two new stores by my parents' house, a new store by my house and a couple new stores on my commute. It just seems like the company has made Denver a focus for expansion.

I have noticed the same, even on a corner where they closed a store, a few years ago, and opened a new one across the street. Perhaps it has to do with a new franchisee who sees more potential.

I rarely go to 7-11 but I do see the need for these local convenience stores. It is just that I plan my purchasing and I never have the need to pick up items quickly which are provided at higher price. When I traveled on my jobs, I did enjoy the easy availability of a soft drink and road the clouds, over caffeinated, with the Big Gulps.

I do think that the plethora of stores as in Family Dollar, Dollar General do provide much better products at a better price. However, they do not provide 24 hour service and lack the fast food options. It appears that 7-11 is pushing hard to provide more of these food options.

There is one 7/11 where I'm at (near Denver DTC) but I'm thinking the Super Wal-Mart keeps em away. Like 7/11 repellent.

I've noticed many new "urban" 7-11s in the downtown area and really like them.
