I've moved a few times after putting items in storage, and now I'm physically too far away to sell the items myself. Between work and school I just don' have the time to drive out to the unit, take pictures/pick up items, and go back and forth retrieving the items that sell.

I've heard that if I don't pay my rent for a while, the storage company will auction the contents of my storage off.

I'd rather be the one running the auction and a share of the getting the profits.

But I cannot find anyone to see the items for me. Are there any companies that provide this service? The other option is to quit my job so that I have time to do it myself, but that isn't an attractive solution to me.

Any help would be appreciated. I've already contacted friends and relatives and they aren't interested in helping.

Do you have any friends back where the storage unit is located who would be willing to do that for you?

Outside of that, perhaps you could try contacting auction houses or thrift stores in the area to see if they'd be willing to sell your stuff (or just buy it all off you).

As I stated, none of my friends/relatives are interested in helping.

I've searched the Web for 3 weeks and I can only find auction houses that want to tell me about auctions, not sell my items.

Do you have any specific ( company name ) recommendations for a service that I cna just give my unit keys to, sign some paperwork, and have sell my goods?

Q: What is the total Value of all the stuff?

Figure you will get at most 25% of it value, It may be worth, just letting it go and letting the Storage place just get rid if it.

I'm starting to agree. Since I pay them with a credit card, will it hurt my credit score not to pay them? I'm trying to handle this as legitimately as possible.

Taskrabbit..I remember that but I've never used it.

You might try one of the "estate sales" outfits. Depending on value of your stuff, most may not take on a small sale, but then some might be hungry for business. Or they could recommend what to do in your case.

Look here : Estate Sale Companies in Colorado (Tag Sale)

FWIW, Stellar http://www.stellarestatesales.com/ did my home 2 years ago. Not the biggest house in town.

Have you thought about contacting the storage company where you have a unit? I would imagine that they have dealt with this issue before, and may have some leads for you.

I did. They had no advice for me. The only information they had was that if I'm delinquent on my payments they would auction the contents.

I'm really stuck. To give you an idea, I've been trying to get time to go see the unit for 6 weeks. It looks like I can go this Sunday to grab anything I deem worth keeping. I might just take the lock off and call the office and let them know they can sell what's left.
