I thought I was settled on Cherry Creek High School (and therefore GV for a home), but I'm struggling to find a property that suits us. As a result, I've decided to perhaps expand our search and learned that Arapahoe High seems to be relatively highly rated (perhaps not as much as Cherry Creek High) and thought I'd ask the local Denver folks about your perceptions/experiences with both schools/communities? I know the high schools share a border (Holly), so I can't imagine they're too dissimilar, but if you're able to compare/contrast any significant distinctions between the two, that'd be great--thanks!

There is such a wide variety of properties that feed into CCHS that I wonder why you are not finding anything to suit you. What price range and amenities are you looking for?

Go for it.

I consider Cherry Creek, Arapahoe, and Fairview High Schools to be the best neighborhood high schools in the state.

If you go south into Douglas County, you will find that Rock Canyon is pretty darn good as well (but we all know how I feel about the direction of Douglas County School District).

As for magnet schools, the top school is D'Evelyn Jr.-Sr. High in South Jeffco, but that school is hard to get into (you have to apply before grade 9 or no dice).

George Washington (DPS), Lakewood (Jeffco), and Smoky Hill (CCSD) all have excellent IB programs, but their regular programs are not so great.

This will give you lots of options.
