Before we purchased our house in NY many years ago, my husband pulled his F-150 into the garage to make sure that it fit. I guess it would've been a deal breaker if it didn't. If you wind up going with a subdivision house with HOA rules like some of the posters have mentioned, you might want to do that before you purchase the home. Otherwise, some HOA's can fine you for not complying with the rules and you don't want that to happen.

I know. I'm asking where you live because I like that no one is allowed to park in the street. We have people here who do not use their driveway or their garage and only park in the street.

We're looking for a house and can't stand all the cars in streets that look horrible. Growing up in Florida the cities have ordinances restricting cars to the driveway or the garage. It just looks so much nicer, not to mention there aren't a zillion blind spots when driving around.
I think having cars on the streets makes a neighborhood look more lived in, but then I also don't care for newer neighborhoods with houses that have 3-car garages and HOAs. I'll agree with you that it seems silly to have cars in the street if you do have that much garage space. To each their own, I suppose.

I'm a pretty picky person, but cars on the street don't bother me at all. I don't understand why anyone cares. Of course the cars in my street tend to be Volvos, Subarus, VWs, BMWs and minivans. And my neighborhood was built to be more urban than suburban.
