And my kids are definitely perfect, but I can't afford a BMW. But then again, there is a Del Taco and Toby Keith's in Stapleton, so maybe Stapleton adjacent?

I would say that Stapleton is rather unique and it's hard to stereotype the entire place, although the Stapletonion.com tries to.

Wait a minute, part of being a good hipster is to hate Stapleton and all suburbs! I have never heard of a hipster living or even going to Stapleton - they would melt

This is totally true--until they reproduce and look at the schools in their hip city neighborhoods. Then it's suburbs as fast as their Converse can carry them.

Indeed, but then have self-destructed as hipsters. There is that fleeing period where you see hipsters with newborns, trying to cling to their hipness, but that period doesn't last long!

Stapleton is the anti-hipster
It's where hipsters goes when they are ready to be unhipstered!

Good morning David!

2bindenver has a good suggestion.

My family moved from Colorado Springs to Englewood in the mid 60's. My mom still lives in the same house (So. Lipan St.) In regards to house sizes, the houses and yards are a little bigger the further west you go (Huron to Magnolia, Tufts to Belleview) Regarding age, this part of town is newer (late 1950's I think.) Working families and retirees IMO. Yuppieville it's not. I believe pricewise this would be a good fit, 2bindenver would probably have more knowledge than me regarding that though. I get over there to visit her and my brother every other month (I live on the western slope). IMO it would be doable for you and your family.

lol! Because I know exactly what you're talking about.

A couple years ago I want to a party at a neighbor's house in Stapleton and they had invited 4 hipster friends from the Cap Hill area to the party. They (the hipsters) were going on and on about how it had been years since they'd been "so far away from the city, deep in the suburbs". If you could ever hear eyes rolling, you would have heard mine

If you think hipsters live in Bradburn or Stapleton, you are obviously too unhip to even identify a hipster

BTW, my hipster badge was revoked the moment I went under contract in Stapleton . Time to buy a BMW and make more benjamins!

Professionaltown = Insert upper-middle/executive new cookie-cutter suburb here. Basically anywhere Dad gets all dolled up in the morning to sit in his BMW for 45 minutes on the way to the office to do real people work. Has a beautiful wife (possibly enhanced) and approximately two perfect kids.

I know it is all tongue and cheek. Just wondering what your definition was.

I would say Englewood is the place for you. North of Hampden there are some great older homes. Maybe even some in your price range.

Default Wheat Ridge

Wheat Ridge fills most of your needs. Working-class retirees still mostly live there. It's a little to the north, but has fast access to DIA, downtown, and I-25 at least. It'll probably turn into a Yuppieville if the general growth of Denver continues as people move westward from Highlands for the affordability, but at the moment you can still find affordable old homes on relatively large lots (~1/4 acre or more). JeffCo schools are in general pretty good.

Yeah, but Stapleton parents are still reasonably hip. No mom jeans/dad jeans here. I think when you're at a party with a beer in one hand, gym body and a baby strapped to your chest, you're reaonably hip
