DavidV, you are right. I promise I'm not smoking _ _ _ _ (lol). Hopefully, my only excuse is a long day & not aging?!

I was referring to the Arapahoe stop lights from Aurora Pky to his turn onto Peoria and should have clarified what I was referring to.... (sorry). I believe the correct answer would be the stop lights are at: Aurora, Gartrell, Liverpool, Himalaya, Lewiston Way, Parker, Chambers, S Jordon & Potomac, then he turns right on Peoria. I think that is all of them.. about 9?

As far as 40 min from the KC area. I was there this last weekend and it did take right at 40 min to get to DTC. If other poster can make it in 30-35 than that is great to know as that area is also quite a beautiful area.

Anyway, didn't mean to raise a BS shout out (ouch). The main point is that he has a very quick and easy drive to DTC. And that no matter where the poster decides to live, I feel they will love the area and will find special, unique and beautiful spots in each of the areas that they have mentioned.

I live in the Wheatlands as well, and I counted 22 stoplights. I drop my son off at school at 8am and I can pull into the office parking lot between 8:25 and 8:30 on a typical day - and that's taking Arapahoe Road from Smoky Hill to Potomac to Caley Pl to Peoria. Today traffic was much heavier and slower than normal and I still pulled into the lot at 8:35.

I rarely take E-470, but when I do it's usually to the airport. Arapahoe Road, even with that 3/4 mile stretch of two lane highway isn't a bad commute.

Since you have eliminated Highlands Ranch (perhaps too hastily), I would recommend either Parker or Castle Rock for new construction and ease of commute to DTC. I would NOT recommend Ken Caryl for ease of commute to DTC.

Both Parker and Castle Rock have new homes, rec centers, pools, shopping (with access to Park Meadows Mall).

The "best schools" is a very subjective measure. Douglas County schools are traditionally strong with more than one debate on here about whether they still are strong, teacher discontent, vouchers, etc.

Parker has more routes to DTC I 25, Parker RD etc, CR not and that's a big deal if there is a snow day and some idiot racks it up into center divider. Both are great cities I live in Parker and looked at CR and glad I live here.

I agree although Castle Rock is still an easier commute on a typical day than Ken Caryl.

Agree there are alot of people coming east on C470 in the morning and then they drive slow blinded by sun in the afternoon back home.

Default Castle Rock question.... The Terrain or the Meadows

Any thoughts on the the Meadows or Terrain in castle rock? I know the Terrain in new and still developing. From what I have seen online they both seem like very nice places to live. My family and I would be moving from Ohio and my husband will be working in the DTC.

If your focus is brand new there are places closer to the dtc.
