Clear Creek Whitewater Park - Golden, CO
I kayak in Clear Creek at least once a week this time of year, but mostly up higher in the canyon. It's one of my favorite places near Denver. The whitewater park is great too.

Unfortunately, not really. Warm and clean doesn't really exist. The lack of big lakes in the area is one thing that drives most transplants crazy. We've got just about everything else. There are bigger, cleaner lakes in the mountains, but they are pretty cold even in August.

If its really so bad i guess we can always make some use of your great waterparks, now I know that probably that may be a reason why there are so many pools by the houses as well.

Soda Lake @ Bear Creek isn't too bad. Actually one of the cleaner reservoirs in town too.

Capitol. Technically, we are in Congress Park, near 11th and Columbine. For those looking, we were able to get a 900 sf one-bedroom with all utilities (minus electricity) included for $1200. We looked at at least 12 places, and this was in-line with other places in the neighborhood, or slightly less expensive.

Thank you RugbyRugby, how is that one bedroom ? I have seen many nice places on craiglists with community pool, fireplaces and codo quality and garage and washer/dryer at about this price,my only worry is if they are so good they are most likely in not so good neighborhood. Do u have any of these amenities? Did you see any nice apartments in this price range?

Honestly, there aren't many "bad" neighborhoods in Denver, at least from what we saw. The one-bedroom we are renting is great. but we may be looking for different things - we did not want a big building or condo development. The building is a 1930's era, 12-unit building, really well maintained. Huge windows, newly finished floors, etc.

We did look at several places in larger complexes that were very nice and have the amenities you are describing (parking, community pool, fitness room, and so on) for around $1500. Look at boutiqueapartments, Brownstone Realty, Alta Alameda, Distinctiveflats, and Cornerstone apartments. Between those companies/websites, you should get a good sense of the range of options.
