I see a lot of talk here about higher cancer rates in Denver. I've read the threads about Rocky Flats & such. I guess Plutonium causes lung cancer when inhaled & Denver is dusted with it? What about skin cancer - is it because there is less atmosphere between you & the sun there? Fill me in.

Can anyone post statistical data showing higher incidence of lung/other cancer in Denver (or CO)?
I've searched around the web & can't find a regional breakdown for such things.

As moving to Denver seems like it might be happening, I would appreciate foreknowledge of such statistics.

One more thing: I have Hypothyroidism & I'm a bit scared of all the dryness there. I already have incredibly dry skin because of it, and I currently live in a humid place. Am I going to turn into a pile of dust in Denver or what?

Thanks...

Colorado (in general) has a higher rate of skin cancers, including melanoma, than the national average. This is due to the sun.
