Hello,

My wife and I are both teachers(I will be finishing my principal certificate in about a year) and we will be looking at moving to either CO Springs or the Denver Suburbs in about a year and a half. Is anyone a teacher that can tell me what being hired out of state is like? What about the job prospects in general? I am a secondary math teacher, and my wife is a special education teacher who specializes in working with severely cognitively impaired students.

Based on my research it looks like southern/western Denver has the best schools, but I would be open to working in a different district if necessary, though I would prefer to work in the same district that my kids are going to be attending. We are not sure where we would want to live in the area quite yet, but would have a housing budget of somewhere in the 200kish area.

Thanks!

I'm not a teacher but the teachers we do know seem to always be employed. Not necessarily happily employed but employed non-the-less. Do a search on the forum for teachers and then you can send msgs to the ones you find and ask questions. At any given time it is hit or miss as to whether an individual is looking at the forum.
