I'll be passing through the Denver Area next month and am curious to know what notable landmarks would be worth checking out.

Thanks in advance.

How long will you be here?

Some of the top tourist destinations are 16th Street Mall/Lower Downtown, Red Rocks, Denver Art Museum, Denver Zoo, Denver Museum of Nature & Science, Pearl Street Mall in Boulder. If you are in to beer, there are countless craft breweries in the city that have tours and tasting rooms. The Coors tour in Golden is always popular as well if you would like to see what a giant brewery looks like. The Children's Museum is also great if you have kids.

Personally, I would put Red Rocks at the top of the list as long as the weather is alright to visit. 16th Street would be 2nd for me. The museums are all very good if you need indoor activities. DMNS is the largest museum between Chicago and LA. The art museum is very impressive starting with the architecture of the building itself.

Check out this thread: "Visiting this weekend (Denver, Colorado Springs, Pueblo: home, restaurants, stores)"

What kinds of things do you like to do? Art? Shopping? Museums? Breweries? Help us out a little!

BTW, I would never recommend that a visitor go to the 16th Street Mall. I spent some time there recently after being gone for a few years and found it dirty and disappointing. Some nice restaurants, but nothing interesting in the way of shopping. I'd recommend Larimer Square and LoDo way above the 16th Street Mall.
