I'm a bit of a shutterbug, and I was wondering if anyone knows of any good locations in the metro area to see lots of flowering trees now that they are starting to come out? I know of a few places in neighborhoods and such but maybe there is a park or something where you can get more than a backdrop of a condo or office building.

Maybe along the Platte or Cherry Creek bike paths?

You'd better do it today or tomorrow because the NWS is calling for 4-8" of heavy, wet snow on Sunday and broken tree limbs are expected.

Maybe Hudson Gardens in Littleton. I am not sure of all the trees and plants they have.

The intersection of S. Quebec St. and E. Orchard Rd. in Centennial has dozens of white-flowering crabapple trees. They all bloom at once and it's a wonderful sight. Probably not after the snow predicted for tomorrow though.

So far, so good. The only moisture we got last night was rain. Personally, I attribute it to carefully covering all of our roses last night. They had just started to leaf in, and, darn it, I wasn't about to see a heavy snow set them back a few weeks, which happened last year. Now, it looks like all that work was for naught, but had I opted not to do it, I expect there would have been six inches on the ground this morning, and all the tender new growth lost. Isn't that always the way it works out?

We've got snow here in Louisville and it continues to come down. Things were just starting to come out a little, should be OK.
