I want to move to another state and I'd love to be able to go skiing! I'm from Texas and hate our extremely hot weather and lack of transit. Everything else about Texas is pretty good though.

Denver is the only place in COLO that you really can live without a car. Look in the Index of Threads under Transport for the Car Free in Denver thread.

I think you could live in Ft Collins, Loveland, Berthoud, Estes Park, Boulder, Glenwood Springs, or Tahoe.

South Park is an area not a town.

It is one of a few basins (large flat valleys surrounded by mountains) that exist in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. They resemble flat plains albeit at a very high altitude (South Park's altitude is nearly 10,000 feet above sea level).

Other basins in Colorado include: North Park, Middle Park and the San Luis Valley.

There is a South Park City museum in Fairplay, South Park's largest town (about 700 people).

No.

And, yes, you can get by without a car. We have a solid bus and light rail system. If you want to live within walking distance of rail, though, expect to pay a rent premium that equals a new car paynent.

It will also make it harder to get to the mountains, but you can always rent a car or ride with friends.

The show is based in Conifer where creator Trey Parker grew up. Conifer = South Park in the TV show.

Without a car you have to be in Denver, Boulder, or maybe Ft. Collins. Anywhere else you would be stuck with basic Monday through Friday, 6AM to 6PM bus service, if even that.

Parker is from Conifer but South Park the show is based on Fairplay.

Living here without a car is definitely doable not Sure How you'd get up skiing unless you paid for the Ski Bus or share a ride each time.

Yep. Denver is your best bet. We have friends that live near Union Station without a car. They take public transportation and use a car share when they need it.
