As for carpenters, I hear there is a shortage of skilled laborers in the Denver area, so that may be a good thing for you.

Thank you Petite. We plan on having enough money to sustain ourselves for awhile. We do plan on moving even if I don't get a job first, but we have to sell our current home first. Can you please tell me what you had to do to get a Colorado teaching license.

We have looked at Colorado Springs as well, but feel Denver has more to offer but I haven't looked thoroughly at CSpring yet, but I plan on it.

I guess we will have to do some research on the best way to protect ourselves from the potential threats from the wildlife.

I thought there may be a need for carpenters, it seems Colorado is growing and will continue to grow.

Clearly he mistook her for someone named Natasha.

Or he was agitated after losing big in the casinos.

The main reason why the moose probably attacked - the women were walking dogs. Moose cannot differentiate between a dog and a wolf so if they see a dog there's a good possibility they'll go after it.

I agree that Moose are amongst the most dangerous of wild animals in North America. But if you exercise common sense, give them plenty of space in case of an encounter, and never try to intimidate them out your way (like you might do with a black bear or a coyote in some cases) then the chance of an attack is slim.

As a teacher for 12 years here:

1. You need to be flexible on work location. Many districts went through serious budget cuts and are only starting to come back and rehire some -- and that is dependent on your area of expertise.

2. For $200,000 or your rent range and you want to be in area of good schools (to live and work), Colorado Springs will be way better (and have far more plentiful opportunities) than your options in Denver.

Thank you for those who suggested Colorado Springs. I've researched a little there but not much, it does look like it is more affordable. I am flexible on work location, I was kind of thinking that finding a job shouldn't be too bad since there are so many schools in Denver and CO. I have also been researching jobs I can get with a BS in Elementary Education and there seems to be some choices, so I'm not too worried about finding something. We may be able to go up in budget, we just don't want to be house poor. We would love to enjoy the lifestyle CO offers.
