My wife and I are looking for a location for a convenient split commute. I'll be working in Lakewood at the Federal Center and she would be working at the Denver Tech Center in Greenwood Village. Safety, good schools are a top priority. Budget would be $350k or so.

Draw line between the two.
That will be a start.
Check out neighborhoods.
Check out schools.

Lakewood - your commute would be shorter.
South Jeffco, your wife would hate the west to east sun filled commute.
Littleton the city not the mailing address - both commutes doable.

DTC to federal center by light rail takes an hour. I wouldn't want to make that commute by car at rush hour, but the train could be tolerable.
