my husband and I plan to move to the Denver area next year and we where wondering where is a good place to stay for a family of six. We are also looking for a great school district. The kids ages are 7, 12, 15, and 16. We aren't familiar with the area and we are looking forward to moving there after I graduate from college this year.

It all depends on what you want in a house and how much you can pay for it.

What is the budget for rental or purchase?

What sort of work will you be seeking here?

We often advise renting a year to really learn the area.

LOTS of existing threads on great schools, find them with our search tool. One highly rated school system is the Boulder Valley School District (BVSD, a searchable term). Boulder itself is very pricey but some nearby towns are in BVSD and more affordable.

As previously stated we need a little more info to really help you. We live in Louisville, near Boulder and I work in Denver, about a 45 min-1 hour drive. Our kids were in the Boulder Valley School District, including one in Special Ed and I cannot say enough good things about this district.
