We did the 2013 tour.
It was awesome.
Showed us parts of WR we did even know existed.
We are pumped for 2015 tour.
And, we are not MCM people, we are modern/contemporary 3968 Vrain Street, Berkeley, Denver, CO 80212-2251 USA

Yes, MCM houses are AWESOME, we love them! But they constitute about 0.3% of all 40-50 year old houses. The rest are ugly boxes that need to be remodeled with a bulldozer.

I like a lot of the 40's and 50's style houses. My favorites are the mid century modern style but I also like split levels and larger ranches. A ranch style home is essentially a blank canvas and they do have functional layouts, usually. You can do a lot with that blank canvas in terms of renovating. The op's budget is high enough where they could find a house that has already been renovated in Wheatridge, Lakewood or Arvada. 100 year old homes are cute but talk about needing to remodel with a bulldozer! Yikes! I say this as the owner of one.

To get back on topic, the commute from Stapleton to I-70 & Ward would be hell.
Twice a day on I-70, I would not wish on my worst enemy.
Live on the west side, Wheatridge or Arvada.
Will soon have rail to airport (no parking fees, train goes right to terminal)
