A friend of mine moved to LA for a year (West Hollywood) and she said her nice 2 bedroom apartment was renting for less than comparable places in Denver and she was paying $1800/mo. I never thought Denver would approach LA prices but I'd say that only applies to rentals. You can still buy a nice house here for $300-$350K. Of course, it was $250K a year and a half ago...

Advice: Wait a few years and housing prices to buy will come down. So many people moving here and buying houses, soon 40% will be in foreclosure. It happened a few years ago and the cycle will surely repeat. It has for the past 20 - 25 years.
In what metro area have 40% of homes EVER been in foreclosure? Even in Las Vegas where in theory 40% of homes could have gone into foreclosure in 2009/2010, the rate of foreclosure never got above 10%.

In what parallel economic universe do you live?

I hit a "4" instead of a "1" before the "0." Hope that helps.
