Hello!

I'll be moving to Denver in about a month, but in a week I will be scouting out the area trying to find a place to live. I'm interested in finding a place that would be fun for a early 20's, single guy interested in making friends and meeting new people. I just graduated so proximity to a school is not an issue. Ideally I'd be looking for an area with nightlife nearby, and I'd also like to be in an area with close proximity to the job market. I wouldn't mind living with roommates if necessary.

My questions is, if you were in my situation, where would be some specific areas you would like to live in the Denver area?

Ideally: Lodo, Cap Hill, Baker, Highlands.

Realistically, on the budget of the average early 20 something: Federal Heights, Thornton, North Aurora, South Federal.

When I was in my 20s, Capital Hill was awesome. Roommates will be necessary depending on income.

Default if in your early 20's

Nowhere.
Because I do not believe that apostrophes should be abused.

In my early 20s?
Anywhere within a 3km radius of the Capitol.

If you are living in Boulder, be prepared to drop a fair amount in rent, it's really pricey due to all the yuppie engineers that live there. But, it's got it's own "Boulder feel". Denver is pricey now too, so if you want to live near downtown (CapHill, north Wash Park, Cheesman Park, etc.), it won't be cheap. It seems you'd be moving without a job, which isn't terrible, but hopefully you have money saved up to tide you over. There are jobs everywhere, but it depends what you want to work in. The DTC and downtown have more professional jobs, as well as other areas. If you're looking to be a waiter there are restaurants all over the metro area (stating the obvious). The "fun nightlife" part would probably be in the areas previously mentioned by others. May I suggest avoiding the burbs? They have bars, but they are spread out and are like most other burbs nationwide. I hail from Littlefun (Littleton) and it's definitely a place geared towards families. There are bars, but it's not like downtown. I realize you didn't suggest living in the suburbs, but I thought I'd mention it.
