We are looking at moving to south Denver. My husband's office would be in Greenwood Village. We need to first find a Private Christian school first, then look for home based on the school. I have looked at great schools.com, but there are so many I thought I would check here first for recommendations. We don't need or want the "elite" atmosphere of private school, just a good Christian environment with rigorous academics.

Second, looking for neighborhoods around south Denver..home price around 750,000-950,000 tops. We want very close to all shopping, restaurants etc...

Suggestions needed! Thank you so much!!

You may wish to make a list and call each schools with questions about their teaching philosophy and accomplishments.

I have heard good things about St. Thomas Moore, Kent Denver, St. Mary's Academy and Valor Christian. YMMV

$750,000 + will get you an above average property.

Kent Denver is a Christian school? Agree with the other suggestions.

Nope, I just looked it up. It is not Christian and one was a high school. I should have specified elementary. However, it must be a good Christian school with fantastic academics.

I don't know if this matters to you, but most of the Christian schools in this area are Catholic schools, including St. Thomas More and St. Mary's Academy. If you don't mind sending your children to Catholic schools, you should also check out St. Mary's in Littleton.

If you don't want to send your kids to Catholic schools, your Christian school options are limited. Here is a list of non-Catholic Christian schools in the southern area:

Denver Christian School - School consolidated campuses in SW Denver (near Hampden and Wadsworth), there is no longer a Highlands Ranch Campus
Jim Elliot Christian School - Lone Tree (near 1-25 and C-470)
Front Range Christian School - Littleton (Coal Mine and Pierce)
St. Anne's Episcopal - Denver (near S University and Yale)

It's crazy when people can afford such a nice house while paying out the nose for a private education that is often worse than the public schools. Unless you plan to pay dramatically more to get one of the top quality private schools. Well, best of luck on that. With that budget you'll find some options catering to you.
