The new Ski Train will not run at all; the new operator has pulled the plug after a dispute with Amtrak. Rats.

Default Snow in the Summer

(Replying to j96g about finding snow in the summer when visiting Denver.)

Loveland usually closes for the season in May and will likely have some snow even after that. Arapahoe Basin usually has skiing on the 4th of July.

To show visitors from out of town mountain scenery and maybe some snow, Mount Evans is the best. You can usually see mountain goats from the road.

That really is too bad about the ski train. I was getting really excited about being able to take it. And it seems like 13,000 others were too.
