Agreed.

IMO much of this list isn't where the "elite" live, it's more where middle class+ w/o much/any poverty lives.

Exactly.

No Cherry Hills, no Denver Country Club, no Polo Club. Lazy click-bait list.

I think zip codes work pretty much the same everywhere. This is metroDenver we're talking about here, not the mountains or the eastern plains, where the zip codes take in larger geographic areas. 80027 is, I believe, totally contained within the city limits of Louisville and the town limits of Superior. This is not a big area.

David Aguilar is correct. It's an area with little poverty and little extreme wealth.

ETA: I have seen many recommendations to look in a certain zip code on this forum.

We're in #11...on the "poor" side of Smoky Hill Ridge (i.e. not Tallyn's Reach).

I was thinking about 80111 and 80112 "Englewood"

True. Even old Englewood is split in half by Broadway - a different zip code on either side. And then there's the Englewood zip code that's nowhere near Englewood proper. Yeah, it's weird out here.

I live in #14 on the list. Doesn't surprise me that the median household income is 6 figures in Stapleton. I like living there, and people don't come across as snobby to me. It actually feels very middle class to me. What surprises me is that the zip code for Stapleton is the same one north and south of I-70. If figured up north would be a different zip code.

Lived in #20 years ago when I was considerably less "wealthy". Now not even on the map - and my house costs 3.5 times more Gotta get a lot smaller to really know neighborhoods in the Denver metro - IMHO!

139K is not much.

Lets say a 50 old man makes 140K a year with a stay at home wife and some kids.
24K to 401K
10K to 529 Plan
Left with 106K

After taxes, medical, car insurance, food, clothes for kids, gas, property taxes, homeowners insurance even without a mortgage they would be scrapping by.

Household Income: $139,173
Median Net Worth: $500,001
Median Disposable Income: $104,356
Median Home Value: $497,713

How does someone contribute $24K to a 401K in a year? Is that pre and post tax numbers? Is it because the man is 50 and can play catch up? I am just curious.

$139K is plenty to live off of if you live within your means.

I currently live in #8.
