I am not a huge fan, We have been several times in SLC when visiting and nothing about it gets me excited. I'd much rather Freddy's, five guys, or any of the other non-mcdonalds burger joints.

I've had In N Out a few times in my life. I think they offer a good quality burger for the price. Obviously, if I wanted quality, I'd go to a gourmet burger place. I also don't eat red meat very often, so it'd be on rare occasions that I'd visit a place like In N Out.

Mehh, they are a fast food burger. At least here in the Springs, Drifters is a comparable but slightly better burger.

A by product of this may be any number of Denverites heading south to Cos to grab one, and clogging up I-25 while it may be beginning or while under construction.

Freddy's is pretty good, their California burger is almost like In N Out. Five Guys fries are too greasy, but have tasty burgers. Happy you guys are getting In N Out, however years too late.

Whataburger is slightly better than In-N-Out, but they're both ridiculously overrated. I'd rather have Jack in the Crack or Carl's Jr than either of them.

I had to read several pages back to see if it was just another rumor or if it is real. Sounds like the Colorado Springs location is a go and that they will expand later. It is one of the safe places for a gluten free diner to get a burger (protein style wrapped in lettuce), fries and shake. We often use it when traveling since we know it is OK. Really looking forward to having them locally.

I don't eat burgers often but my choice for best fast food burger is Carl's Jr.. Somebody above mentioned they think McDonalds is better than In N Out. All I have to say to that is Wow! To each their own. If there was an intersection with a burger king, McDonalds, In N Out and Carls on each corner I would pick Carls first and then In N Out second. I would rather starve then eat at McDonalds, Wendy's or Burger King.

Freddy's is pretty good though. I don't like Smash or 5 Guys. I have yet to try a Whataburger but my friends rave about it.

It is safe to say we are saturated when it comes to burger joints.

Jack has failed yet again here in Colorado. The few locations I know of have closed. The one in Highlands Ranch turned into a Raising Cane's which is another highly over rated crap hole.

The JITB's in AZ are doing fairly good, they're going retro with the burger baskets like its 1950 again. Maybe it's the E-coli stigma that some people can't forget.

Trying to understand the mentality of whatever team at In N Out corporate that spearheaded the expansion into Colorado, I am going to assume that either Denver has a dearth of good fast food burger options, or In N Out is confident they can coast on the hyper inflated word-of-mouth reputation alone.

Unless there is a salient difference between a grinder and a sub (note: there is not), smart business would say to call your product what the consumer expects as confusion inhibits sales.

Also, it does the average worker behind the counter a real favor so that they are not spending the majority of their shift answering questions like, "What's a grinder?" and "Why do you guys call it a grinder?"

Where I grew up, they were called 'wedges', two miles away they were called 'heros' within a couple hours drive 'subs', 'grinders', and 'hoagies' make their appearances. It is good that there is a generic word like 'sub'.
