Which app/source are you using? Little, nondescript , red pin drops on a map don't tell me anything.

For the record, and I'm gonna put this in bold because it seems to be a source of confusion for some of you, I do not want to live in a hot spot. I'm not looking to live in LoDo. I'm not looking to live in the Highlands. I'm not looking to live in LoHi. I'm not looking to live near Cheesman. I'm not looking to live near Wash Park. I would just like to find a reasonably priced place to live (under $800-900/mo for a 1-BR that isn't a ****hole) that is not 50+ miles away from the city center.
I know of a place that is in a pretty good location...

If you use padmapper you can find plent for under $800.

As to the reason for the supposed discrepancy in housing costs between Detroit and Denver suburbs, I would imagine a lot of it has to do with Detroit being a far more blue collar city than Denver. 13.5% of the MI workforce versus 5.6% of the CO workforce.

To be blunt, your complaints are overboard. Why don't you keep them to one thread instead of hijacking multiple threads in various forums without providing anything new? If you have a legitimate question, open a new thread and ask like you did in the mortgage forum. Everyone is tired of hearing your complaints.

To paraphrase Yogi Berra:
"Nobody wants to live there anymore, it's too crowded!"

Until the various Denver residents, be they transplants or natives, say "no, this is too expensive" and *themselves* decide to move, COL will stay high. That's how the market works. Basically complaining that other people living here are the problem and should leave is simply wishful thinking.

I was just responding to other posters comments directed at me.

If you don't like it, then don't post on a public message board where this is bound to happen from time to time.

Don't worry though, I'm out of here. Back to the previously scheduled praise and glorification of how wonderful and perfect this city is.
