My SO and I hopped on a bus from CT to Denver, thinking we would we have a place to stay. Its not looking so good. Anyone have any suggestions? We'll be getting off the bus in Denver in less than an hour...

Good Grief! Ever hear of planning? Housing in Denver tends to be less affordable and harder to obtain. When you hit the bus terminal in Denver, buy tickets south to either Colorado Springs or Pueblo where rents are lower and there are more vacancies.

Is this a serious post?

Yes, this is a serious post... we're all out of cash. As I said, we expected to have a place to stay. You know those kinds of people who tell you "come on out!" and then are suddenly invisible when you actually get on the damn bus!

If you are using your phone to post on City-Data, I would be using your phone to look up homeless shelters nearest to the bus station. Do either of you at least have jobs lined up?

No we don't, but we'll take suggestions on where to look. SO does all forms of construction.

Denver Rescue Mission

Catholic Charities Shelters - Denver

Samaritan House Homeless Shelter

Google any of those. There are tons of options for emergency shelter. Then contact your families. Otherwise, stay in the helters until you can get dishwashing jobs or something like that to get a bus ticket back home. Or maybe you will get lucky and get better jobs so you can stay in Denver if that is what you want.

But you can't exect to show up in a city with no emergency cash thinking you will be hosted by people you don't know very well.

Do you have enough money for a bus ticket back? It's not too late, or somewhere cheaper. Denver is very expensive, not a great place to move to if you don't have some cash

Agreed, Denver is NOT any easy city to start from scratch. If you are set on Colorado, go south to Colo Springs or somewhere cheaper. There IS tons of construction going on, so hopefully your SO is able to find something quickly.
