How much do you tip for a haircut? If you pay with a credit card do you give the tip in cash or put it on the card?

I tip my barber $10 and put it on the credit card along with the wife's tip for her haircut. Just tell the cashier you need to add the tip to the card and they will "leave it open" for you, just like at a restaurant. I'm a generous tipper. A decent tip on a $20 men's haircut might be $5 but I do $10.

I do $5 on the card. I pay $20-$25 for the cut.

I typically do $5-$8, but I go to Great Clips. If I went to a real barbershop where the volume figures aren't as high I'd probably tip a little more.

My barber charges $17.00 and I give her $25.00 - always cash. She doesn't take cards.

I tip about $10 on a $21 haircut. Yeah, I go to Floyd's, but I feel like the stylist who usually cuts my hair does a great job.

My 6 yr old cuts my hair with the Wahl clipper. No tip because I have to clean it up when she's done
