My husband, who is in IT, has been approached by a company in Denver called Infosys. It is starting to look like it may lead to a job offer. Can anyone tell me if this is a good company to work for? What is the work environment like? Any history of frequent layoffs? Any info would be appreciated.

We used them at my last job, but they were all consultants who worked on site at my company. As far as I was aware, all of their operational activities took place in India.

Thank you for the reply. So, did the consultants report directly to India?

On a day to day basis, they reported to onsite management (meaning the company I worked for) because they were assigning and supervising the tasks. Beyond that, I don't know since I didn't work that closely with them, I was in a different department that just happened to be physically near by.

Thanks again for your reply. Did it seem like all of the consultants were from India? I just found some info on the forum that included an article from 2014 about the company. It's about a former recruiter who states that there was discrimination when it came to hiring U.S. citizens. He says they only wanted to hire Indian workers. They also agreed to pay $34 million to the U.S. government in 2013 to settle claims that it engaged in systematic visa fraud and abuse of the immigration process.
This raises some concerns for us. So, maybe it's not the right job to consider relocating for.

I thought you were asking about the work environment, not the hiring practice?

I would say, let your husband get the job offer before considering whether to accept it.

I can't speak to their hiring practices but yes, every consultant was Indian.

AmFest - Work environment was the initial question before we had knowledge of their hiring practices. These practices speak to the ethics and integrity of the company, which is something that is still important to some people. Ethics and integrity can impact the work environment. We have experienced this firsthand. And, a company that discriminates against American workers doesn't sound like a great work environment.

Emm74 Thanks for your reply and your courtesy

Regajohn - Thanks
